Objective Homework

- Setting
Setting is defined as the time and place in which a story takes a place. Setting helps define the world of a story. If the setting of a is in ancient Egypt then there would be no planes. This is a simple example of how setting might have an effect on a story. One of the most important things about setting to me is that it is not just where a story takes place but when a story takes place.
- Character
Character is a person place or thing performing human activities or functions in literature. There are several types of characters. The protagonist is usually the main character of a story. He is the "good" person, from the readers perspective. The Antagonist is the "evil" character from the readers perspective. There are also Dynamic and Static Characters. Dynamic Characters are Characters that change. Static Characters are characters that do not change. Characters are important to the story because pretty much any other element would be pointless or nonexistent without them. If there were no characters in a story there would be no conflict. One of the most important things about character to me is that the characters a may or may not change, depending on the story.
